St Michael's Mount

Paul is blessed with some of the most compelling and famous surroundings in the whole of the British Isles. St Michaels Mount, 4 miles away is a picturesque National Trust owned property.  An island at low tide it is possible to walk across an otherwise submerged causeway to explore the harbour and castle.  An amphibious vehicle ferries visitors across at high tide.

Porthcurno beach is feted not only for its wonderful sand, surf and sunshine, but also for the open air Minack Theatre nestling in its precipitous cliffs. The summer program changes weekly, there are 6 evening performances and 2 matinees.  The Minack is a 15-20 minute drive from The Kings Arms.

St Ives, famous for surfing and artists and The Tate St Ives is also readily accessible from The Kings Arms and makes an ideal destination for a morning or afternoon outing.  Don't miss the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum with its beautiful sculpture garden.

Picturesque Mousehole is less than a 10 minute walk from The Kings Arms.  Its safe sandy harbour and sea water pool make it ideal for families with small children.

There are wonderful coast path walks and many interesting antiquities in the vicinity.  A large scale Explorer Ordinance Survey Map in the bar will help you plan days out or ask our friendly staff for their recommendations.

St Michaels Mount - only a few miles from Paul and open to the public.  Check the tide times if you want to walk both ways!
